Gilbane Building Company Selects Communication via Design as Green Design Partner

Boston, MA — Located in the heart of Boston’s waterfront, the Seaport District has become one of the most vibrant places to live, work and play. Communication via Design has been in the Boston Seaport neighborhood since 1996, so we know what’s where and what’s worth the trip. We’ve put together a list of free or inexpensive events below that you and your family can visit this summer. We also updated our interactive map to include even more ‘hot spots’ for you to tour. Enjoy over three dozen retaurants, spend the day shopping, take in some of the frequent live performances and events, or simply enjoy the water and city views. Come visit us and discover what makes our neighborhood such a vibrant location.

Friday Movies by Moonlight
Don’t miss watching Hollywood’s film classic under the stars! Bring a blanket, chair, and popcorn for family fun on the The Boston Harbor Hotel riverfront. The free 2009 series continues every Friday night until September 4th, starting at dusk.

Summer Concerts at Boston Harbor Hotel
Come groove to soul, swing, jazz, and blues artists performing on the anchored barge in front of the Boston Harbor Hotel on Rowes Wharf. Concerts are free and run from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday until September 3rd.

The Fort Point Channel MP3 Tour
Explore the Fort Point Channel area with your iPod or MP3 player as your tour guide. This free downloadable hour-long audio tour will guide you along the Fort Point Channel Harborwalk to places you never knew existed.

Independence Wharf
For a bird's eye view of the Fort Point Channel, head to the 14th floor observation deck at 470 Atlantic Ave. From there you'll be able to see Logan Airport, the Harbor Islands, including Deer Island — site of the Boston Harbor treatment plant — and the Blue Hills Reservation. Binoculars and benches are available on the exterior observation deck. There is also an interior viewing area adjacent to the 14th floor observation deck, and an excellent video presentation in the lobby.

Berklee Summer Concert Series at the Institute of Contemporary Art
On Thursday, swing by the ICA to check out the most recent exhibits for free (starting at 5:00 pm). Then take a break on the ICA’s HarborWalk with a delectable drink from Water Café and listen to a free outdoor concert until 8:30 pm.

$1 Fridays at The Boston Children's Museum
The Boston Children's Museum is a much-loved destination for kids of all ages. The museum is designed to help children understand their environment, the nature of disabilities, science, and cultural diversity. Visit every Friday from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm for only $1.

Summer Concerts at the Bank of America Pavillion
An open air pavilion holding regular concerts with great Harbor views. This summer, don’t miss Pat Benatar, Jason Mraz, Tori Amos, Counting Crows and The Flaming Lips.
